Designing a couture branch of clothing shortly after the Second World War, Achille Maramotti launched the MaxMara brand in 1951. Focusing on revolutionary mass-production of fashion; the brand gained instant success, helped via collaborations with celebrated designers like Karl Lagerfeld. Combining prestigious Italian flair and craftsmanship, MaxMara expanded its portfolio by introducing sunglasses in 1998. With Maramotti’s obsession with art, MaxMara sponsors the MaxMara Art Prize for Women. MaxMara abides to create a line of eyewear distinctive in look, appealing specifically to the women’s market.
